Certified Peer Specialist Training

The Wisconsin Peer Specialists is hosting their annual training this fall. Participants must live in Milwaukee County, complete an online application and pass an interview to be selected. Only the first 50 applications will be considered.

  • A certified peer specialist is someone who has lived experience with mental illness and/or substance use disorder, and has formal training to support recovery.
  • An active participant on the consumer’s A paid professional who uses their treatment and recovery team. experience and training to support recovery.

Training Dates are as follows:

  • September 25th 
  • September 28th - October 2nd
  • October 5th - October 9th
  • October 12th- October 16th
  • 9 am – 12 pm all days

Note: You must successfully complete the state-approved Peer Specialist training and pass the certification exam to be a Certified Peer Specialist.
